The Tamil Nadu Assembly Assurance Committee, led by its Chairman R.B. Udhayakumar, reviewed the implementation of works based on the assurances given by the Ministers in the floor of the House on various welfare schemes here on Wednesday. Mr. Udhayakumar, who is also the MLA representing Sattur constituency, said that of the 67 assurances given to the people in the district, 25 had been fulfilled. Efforts were under way to fulfil another 36, and were not feasible, a statement said. The panel members — M.K. Ashok (Velachery), R. Kumaraguru (Ulundurpet), A.K. Bose (Madurai-North), S. Madeswaran (Athur) and Sub-Secretary Subramaniam — inspected the proposed sites near the Uzhavar Santhai at Sattur for establishing a bus stand. They also reviewed the possibility of constructing a flyover at the Sattur-Padanthal junction and inspected the Government Hospital, taluk office and Maria Oorani.
