“Officials should take care to complete the works”
: The Tamil Nadu Assembly’s Assurance Committee reviewed the progress made in the ongoing development projects here on Tuesday.
Addressing the meeting, it chairman R.B. Udayakumar said 149 assurances given in the Assembly on the development works under way in the district were taken up for today’s review and the officials should take extreme care in completing the projects within the stipulated period with superior quality so that the completed projects could be put into use on an early note.
He commended Collector C. Samayamoorthy for having taken sincere efforts for completing the ongoing welfare schemes and development projects on time.
Committee members R. Kumaraguru (Ulundurpet), A.K. Bose (Madurai North) and S. Madheshwaran (Salem Authoor), Assembly Secretary A.M.P. Jamaludeen, Mayor Vijila Sathyananth, MLAs Esakki Subbiah, S. Muthuselvi and S. Duraiappa were present.
Later, the Committee inspected some of the ongoing development projects, including construction of neonatal ward at Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, overhead water tank at Perumalpuram and Tirunelveli taluk office.
