The next meeting of the Karur Panchayat Union, which has remained paralysed for several months now, is slated for February 15. Trading of charges by the chairperson Valarmathi Chidambaram and the councillors against each other had forced the social issues to the back burner leaving the functioning of the local body in shambles. A suit was filed in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court by the panchayat chairperson and the Court has issued directions for convening a meeting on February 15. Mrs.Valarmathi has issued a circular informing that the Panchayat Union would meet at 10-30 a.m. on February 15 and has invited the members to participate in the deliberations.
