Over 1,500 persons took part in the Chief Minister’s Expanded Health Insurance Scheme camp at Arumbavur Government Higher Secondary School on Saturday. About 27 doctors, 55 nurses and 20 other non-medical staff drawn from hospitals in Chennai, Tiruchi and Perambalur and also the primary health centres in the district took part in the camp to screen the patients for problems, including general, surgical, orthopaedic, cardiological, neuro, eye, ear, nose, throat, gynaecological, cancer, psychiatric. Separate sections were set up for taking scan, ECG , echo. A total of 170 of them were referred to major hospitals for further treatment.
