Students of six southern districts can enrol for courses
MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Open University is conducting spot admissions here on September 2 and 3 for students residing in Madurai, Theni, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Dindigul and Virudhunagar districts.
It will be held at the Tamil Nadu Polytechnic College, where the university authorities will also distribute certificates/diplomas to those varsity students who emerged successful in the examinations held in January this year.
A press release from N. Sethuraman, Controller of Examinations, on Wednesday said that this was the third spot admission programme of the university as similar programmes were already held in Tiruchi and Erode.
The fourth admission programme would be conducted at Tirunelveli on September 9 and 10 for students of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari.
Dr. Sethuraman urged the students to avail the opportunity for enrolling themselves into their desired courses by paying the required fees and furnishing the copies of relevant testimonials for admission. The study materials would be distributed instantly at the centre itself.
M.S. Palanichamy, Vice-Chancellor of the university and T. Udayachandran, the Collector, would address the students at a function to be organised to mark the spot admission programme.
