Only 34 out of the 50 candidates in the fray in six constituencies here have submitted their election expenditure accounts with the Personal Assistant to Collector (Accounts).

The major party candidates T.K. Raja of PMK contesting in Bargur, Dr. John Timothy of DMDK contesting in Hosur and R. Syed Ghiyas Ul Haq of Congress contesting from Krishnagiri did not submit their accounts on Saturday. All the candidates contesting in the Veppanahalli constituency including Krishangiri MLA T. Senguttuvan submitted their expenditure accounts. Earlier, in a release, Mr. Roy asked the candidates to submit their election expenditure accounts to the Personal Assistant to Collector (Accounts) on Saturday, April 6 and April 10 without fail. They have to report to the official at the specified time allotted for each constituency.

Candidates from Krishnagiri can submit their accounts between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Bargur from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Thali 12 noon to 1 p.m., Uthangarai 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Hosur 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Veppanahalli 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Action would be initiated against the candidates if they failed to submit their accounts, the release added.
