Tatkal applicants can directly come to the Passport Seva Kendra in Tiruchi
The Regional Passport Office, Tiruchi, has made certain amendments to the online appointment system to improve service to the general public and address grievances of passport applicants.
Taking into account the grievance of public regarding difficulty in getting Tatkal appointment, it was decided to extend the facility of walk –in appointment for Tatkal and Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) applications.
Tatkal applicants can directly come to Passport Seva Kendra, Tiruchi, which is not allowed in Passport Seva Kendra, Thanjavur. PCC applicants can come to any of the PSK in Tiruchi or Thanjavur after registering their application online without taking an appointment.
Walk-in applicants have to come with the printout of application registration number and requisite documents between 9.30 a.m. and noon. Appointments for normal applications were available as per the serving capacity of each PSK.
Slots for appointment
The appointment slots for the next available date are opened on a daily basis from 4 p.m. onwards.
Applicants who have an urgency but not having enough documentary proof for applying under the Tatkal scheme and those who could not succeed to obtain online appointments despite having tried repeatedly could visit the Regional Passport Office at Tiruchi.
They should fill up the application online, generate Application Registration Number (ARN) and come with the printout of the ARN sheet.
The Regional Passport Officer will consider such cases on merit and give staggered appointments keeping in view the load / capacity at the respective PSK.
Applicants having confirmed appointments but unable to visit the PSK due to some reason, are advised to reschedule / cancel their appointments at least 15 hours prior to the scheduled date / time, so that these appointments may be released to other applicants in queue.
In case of ‘no show' of the applicant on the scheduled day & time, the data captured for that applicant will be deleted from the system including ARN number and such applicants will be required to fill up the data again for obtaining fresh appointments, a press release from the Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchi, K. Balamurugan said here on Monday.
