NATRAMPALLI: A six-year-old boy was crushed to death while asleep in a cow shed as the wall collapsed due to heavy rains near Natrampalli on Monday night.

Police said that two of his brothers sustained injuries. Further, two cows and a calf also died in the incident. Prashanth (6) was sleeping along with his brothers Sakthivel (8) and Suriya (5) and father Devandaran and mother Sumathi at a cow shed in a coconut farm at Ellaripatti near Natrampalli.

Devandaran was working as a security at the coconut farm.

Police said that due to heavy rains the wall at the cowshed collapsed. Prashanth who got caught beneath the debris died on the spot. Sakthivel and Suriya sustained injuries.

Two cows and a calf at the cowshed also died. Sakthivel and Suriya were admitted to the Government Hospital at Tirupattur. Natrampalli Fire Service personnel and police rushed to the spot for rescue operation. Natrampalli police had registered a case.
