The officials of various departments are working continuously to prevent the outbreak of dengue in the district, said the Deputy Director for Health, M. Madusoodhanan.

According to the Deputy Director for Health, two fogging machines have been operating in the rural areas to prevent the spread of dengue.

The officials cannot eradicate the dengue-spreading mosquitoes without public cooperation.

While inspecting 100 houses, 18 to 20 houses turn out to be breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Therefore the DD (Health) has sought the cooperation of the public to eradicate the mosquitoes.

More than 400 field workers are being engaged across the district to take preventive measures as well as for creating awareness among the people on the possibility of the outbreak of dengue in the district.
