M.R. Mohan, Commissioner, Tamil Nadu State Co-operative Societies Election Commission (TNSCSEC), has appealed to the poll officials to ensure free and fair polls during the last and fourth stage of elections to cooperative societies on Saturday also.

Addressing a review meeting of poll officials from the districts of Virudhunagar, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts here on Thursday, he expressed satisfaction over peaceful conduct of elections during the last three stages of elections.

The Commissioner also reviewed the security arrangements being made for the elections on Saturday from the officials concerned and told them to function without fear or favour.

Results would be announced on April 30. The issue of notice for election of office-bearers would take place the same day and election of president and vice-president on May 6. The members would assume office on May 9.

Joint Registrars of Cooperative Societies C. Gurumurthy (Virudhunagar region), K. Pandian (Tuticorin region), R. Dhayalan (Tirunelveli region) and V.M. Kalaiselvan (Kanyukumari division), Virudhunagar District Revenue Officer R. Raju, Collector T. N. Hariharan and Superintendent of Police S. Maheswaran took part in the review meeting.
