For Perambalur and Kunnam constituency

Observers Chander Shekar Talwar and P.Rajaram inspected the counting centres for the Perambalur and Kunnam Assembly constituencies here on Wednesday.

Accompanied by Collector and District Election Officer M.Vijayakumar, they inspected the counting centres at the Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Polytechnic College and Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Nursing College.

They reviewed the arrangements of the counting tables, video recording of the counting process, the media centre and the security cover.

Consultative meet

Earlier, at a consultative meeting with candidates and their agents, Mr.Vijayakumar said that candidates and agents of candidates should come to the counting centres before 7 a.m. on Friday.

Only candidates and their agents holding photo identity cards would be allowed to enter the counting centres. Arrangements have been made to ensure that the counting process was fully visible for candidates and their agents through barricades made of steel mesh. Candidates and their agents would be allowed to carry pencils, calculators and notebooks inside the counting centres, he said.

District Revenue Officer M.A.Subramanian and other officials were present.
