ERODE: Nursing staff, nursing students and paramedical personnel of Erode Government Hospital celebrated the International Nurses Day marking the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale here on Wednesday.
Hospital Superintendent Dr. Ramasamy administrated the pledge.
He called upon the nursing staff to serve tirelessly for the sick, the needy and the underprivileged in society.
The day was celebrated to remember the contributions nurses make to society.
Nurses should work with dedication and commitment, doctors stressed and pointed out that the nurses got a unique opportunity to serve the people who were suffering from various diseases.
The International Council of Nurses had announced that ‘Delivering Quality, Serving Communities: Nurses Leading Chronic Care' as the theme for 2010.
Senior doctors and hospital officials were present during the celebration.
Resident Medical Officer Dr. Jothinathan, Nursing Superintendent (Grade II) Ananthi Arumugam and senior nursing staff were present.
