The Supreme Court has issued notice to the prosecution on a petition filed by V.N. Sudhakaran, co-accused in the wealth case pending against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalihaa and four others (including Mr. Sudhakaran), seeking to recall some witnesses for cross-examination.
In its brief order, a Bench of Justice Dalveer Bhandari and Justice Dipak Misra said, “Ranjit Kumar, senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, submits that except the petitioner, all other accused have been given the right to cross-examine the recalled witnesses. He further submits that he would conclude the cross-examination within two days. Delay condoned. Issue notice returnable on January 30.”
Mr. Sudhakaran said he had not been given a fair opportunity to have the witnesses cross-examined.
