CHENNAI: Justice V. Ramasubramanian of the Madras High Court has ordered notice on a petition of writ of quo-warranto seeking a direction to the Registrar, IIT-Madras, to show on what authority he was holding the post.In its petition, the IIT SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, represented by its general secretary, V.Neethinathan, submitted that the selection of K. Panchalan as Registrar was not based on the procedure of the IIT. Hence, he was not liable to continue in the post. He did not have requisite qualification and experience to hold the post. — Special Correspondent
