Dissatisfaction over Neel Metal Fanalca
CHENNAI: Various issues, including desilting of canals, construction of multi-level parking lots, laying of roads and construction of public toilets, in north Chennai were discussed at a meeting of residents and Exnora Innovators Clubs here on Sunday.
Residents of George Town Exnora sought regulation of the timing of garbage removal in the area. At present, it is being removed after the start of business hours causing much inconvenience to the public, businessmen and residents, they said.
Parasmal of George Town Exnora, suggested that a multi-level parking complex be constructed. Members of the Exnora Innovators Clubs of Perambur, Kodungaiyur, Park Town, George Town, Harbour, Choolai, Manali, Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Kondithoppu, Broadway, Washermenpet, Vyasarpadi and Ayanavaram participated in the meeting.
The functioning of Neel Metal Fanalca was also discussed at the meeting. Residents of Park Town expressed their dissatisfaction over its functioning in their area. Fatheraj J. Jain of Park Town Exnora said the private conservancy agency was not cleaning the area properly. “Like the Corporation, the firm is saying that it does not have enough manpower when we ask for reasons for not cleaning the area properly and regularly."
Perambur residents requested bus services to Parry’s Corner via Otteri. They also requested the Southern Railway officials to open a computerised reservation centre in the area. Ayanavaram residents requested officials to desilt Hainsely Canal. R.Govindaraj, Joint-General Secretary, Exnora International, regretted that many development proposals for north Chennai remained only on paper.
He urged the authorities to implement the proposals quickly and provide relief to the residents.
