Superintendent of Police (North), N. T. Sivadasan has issued a regulatory order stating that for a period of one month between August 24 and September 23, no assemblies, processions, demonstrations, picketing, public meetings or protests will be allowed in the region without a license.

The licence can be obtained from the SP (North) 24 hours in advance. This order is issued because there is a likelihood of dislocation of traffic, danger to the community and damage or loss to private and public property.

This order does not affect marriages, religious functions, funeral and Government functions, according to a release.
