The Southern Railway has decided not to operate night trains on the Pamban bridge till January 21 due to the presence of the tug ship nearby.

According to a press release, the 22622 Kanyakumari-Rameswaram Express leaving Kanyakumari on January 20 and 22621 Rameswaram-Kanyakumari Express leaving Rameswaram on January 21 will remain cancelled. The 56721 Madurai-Rameswaram passenger and 56724 Rameswaram-Madurai passenger will remain cancelled on January 20 and 21. The 56725 Madurai-Rameswaram passenger will be cancelled on January 20 and the 56722 Rameswaram-Madurai passenger on January 21.

The 16713 Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram Express leaving Chennai Egmore on January 19 and 20 will be terminated at Mandapam and partially cancelled between Mandapam and Rameswaram.

The 16714 Rameswaram-Chennai Egmore Express leaving Rameswaram on January 20 and 21 will be operated between Mandapam and Chennai Egmore.

The 16779 Tirupati-Rameswaram Express leaving Tirupati on January 20 will be terminated at Madurai and partially cancelled between Madurai and Rameswaram.

The 16780 Rameswaram-Tirupati Express leaving Rameswaram on January 21 will leave from Madurai.

The 56723 Madurai-Rameswaram, 56726 Rameswaram-Madurai, 56829 Tiruchi-Rameswaram and 56830 Rameswaram-Tiruchi passengers will run as usual from January 20, along with 16701 Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram Express and 16702 Rameswaram-Chennai Egmore Express.
