Chennai: A new system of 30 days assessment and collection has been introduced from June 1 onwards for current consumption (CC) bills collection for the benefit of LT consumers in Chengalpattu Electricity Distribution Circle. The circle covers Sriperumbudur, Maraimalai Nagar, Maduranthagam, Acharapakkam and Chengalpattu divisions. In this new system, the consumers have to pay from the 2nd day of the assessment and within 20 days. Otherwise, the service connection is liable for disconnection, stated a TNEB release. Assessment will be made on all working days in all collection centres. There is no change in the existing bi-monthly system of reading, said the release seeking the cooperation of consumers.
