TIRUCHI: Bharathidasan University has introduced two-year M.A. programme in Human Resource Management this academic year through its Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension.
Ranking second in the world in human resource availability, the potential in India could be well utilised by aligning modern technology to the strategies for progress. Factors determining scientific management of human resource in the current context include training, motivation, infrastructure, quality education and management.
The course focuses on leadership, personality development, training, motivation, conflict management and evaluation of thorough knowledge, besides field exposure as field work component, according to the Centre Director K. Parthasarathy. The Centre already offers one year PG Diploma programmes in HRM and NGO management.
The masters programme equips candidates to work in government and non-government organisations as managers, researchers, policy makers and evaluators. One-month in-plant training at reputed national level government and private organisations would be an integral part of the programme. Every year, visits to HR institutions would be arranged, the Course Coordinator S. Karuppaiyan said.
The eligibility is a UG degree obtained in UGC recognised institutions. Application and prospectus could be obtained by producing a demand draft for Rs. 200 drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of Bharathidasan University, Tiruchi – 24, payable at the Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, IECD Building, Khajamalai Campus, Tiruchi – 23.
