The Airports Authority of India, to ensure the comfort of visitors coming to Coimbatore airport to receive passengers, has decided to permit them into the new arrival hall from Friday morning.

A release from Airport Director K. Peter Abraham said that at present, visitors who came to the airport had to wait outside the terminal irrespective of the weather conditions. Now, the AAI has decided to permit the visitors into the arrival hall. For this purpose, a 650 square feet area has been segregated in the air conditioned arrival hall and seats have been provided. The facility, regulated by entry tickets, will be available from Friday morning.

A refreshment outlet has been set up in the visitors' area. Soon, other facilities such as shops, ATM, lounges and hotel reservation centres have been proposed.
