Cab4u, a new car rental service, was launched here on Wednesday.

Addressing the media, Mani Rajagopalan, Managing Director of Cab4U, said the company planned to cover over 53 places in Tamil Nadu.

“With a fleet of over 3,000 cars, we plan to serve even small towns where it is hard to find cabs, through tie-up with local taxi drivers, travel agencies and individual cab owners, with a call centre for customers,” he said.

Customers could book cabs to reach any place in the State on their website or by making a call to their call centre, he said.

“I hit upon the idea of this service when I got stranded in a small town without transport. This service will prove to be an effective solution for tourists visiting areas with less connectivity,” Mr. Rajagopalan said.

The service will be launched across the country in the next few years with added features such as reservation for hotels, he added.
