Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on Saturday inaugurated the new building of the Indian Overseas Bank branch at Devakottai.

The branch has been shifted to a new building after it (branch) was started in Devakottai 72 years ago.

He visited the various sections of the bank building, which was air-conditioned, and enquired about the facilities provided to the staff and customers. The Minister also inspected the strong room where safety-locker facility has been established. Mr. Chidambaram distributed welfare assistance to alternatively abled children, poor students.

P. Thenappan, General Manager, declared open the Automated Teller Machine.
