The 63rd National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day was celebrated at the 10 Tamil Nadu NCC Battalion, Vellore, at the battalion office here on Saturday.

Praveen Chauhan, Commanding Officer-in-charge and Administrative Officer of the battalion, presided . He said 13 lakh NCC cadets were undergoing training throughout the country, which included 1.05 lakh cadets in Tamil Nadu.

He appealed to the cadets to join the Defence forces and serve the country. He thanked the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Minister for Sports and Human Resources Development and the Joint Director General of the Tamil Nadu NCC for having issued an order enhancing tiffin allowance for NCC candidates participating in parade from Rs.6 to Rs.20 per parade.

P. Rajapandian, Training Officer of the battalion, welcomed the gathering.
