The Radio Astronomy Centre (RAC), a part of the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research near here, will celebrate National Science Day on February 28, according to the head of the centre P.K. Manoharan.

In a press note issued here on Saturday, he said that the main objective was to motivate and create scientific interest among young students and enhance awareness about science. Stating that the celebrations would be open to all between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Dr. Manoharan said that as part of the celebrations satellite science awareness events will be held at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and Government Higher Secondary School in Kotagiri on February 11, at the Saint Mary’s Higher Secondary School in Coonoor on February 12, at the Saint Joseph’s Higher Secondary School in Ooty on February 13 and at the Fathima Girls Higher Secondary School in Gudalur on February 14.
