The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has reaccredited National College (Autonomous), Tiruchi, with ‘A' Grade. A Peer Team made a visit during July and observed the academic programmes, infrastructure for teaching-learning process, linkages with organisations through Memorandums of Understanding, and collective functioning of management, staff and students, Principal K. Anbarasu said. The UGC has ranked National College among 50 colleges nationwide as College with Potential for Excellence. The status entitles each college to Rs. 1.5 crore for improving research facilities, purchase of equipment, improving teaching aids and meeting academic expenses.

The College's proposal was recommended to the UGC by the Bharathidasan University. The College was marching ahead towards Centenary year by fulfilling its mission to provide quality higher education to students from downtrodden communities, a release said.
