The weekly grievances day meeting held at the collectorate here on Monday witnessed a good turnout of a group of narikoravas, hailing from Madurapuri near Thuraiyur. They submitted petition to the Collector pressing for two demands. They said of the 200 families of narikoravas residing at Madurapuri, 63 have been given house site pattas. Of them, the State government sanctioned green houses under the Chief Minister's solar powered green house scheme to 30. They demanded that the district administration provide green houses to rest of the 33 families who were allotted house site pattas. The other demand of the narikoravas is the establishment of a primary school for the children of their community.
