The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development has sanctioned a sum of Rs. 337.56 crore to Tamil Nadu under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

According to a statement issued by NABARD Chief General Manager Lalitha Venkatesan, the fund would be utilised for laying roads in 31 districts, establishing Combined Drinking Water Supply Scheme benefiting 175 habitations in Pudukottai district, construction of 77 Rural Sanitary Complex in 20 districts, etc. With this, the cumulative allocation under RIDF for the fiscal 2013-14 is Rs. 495.71 crore.
