MADURAI: The annual music festival at the Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Samajam will begin from January 2 with violin concert by A. Kanyakumari.
Until January 12, top artists including Nityasri Mahadevan, Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, Maharajapuram S. Ramachandran, Priya Sisters and Sanjay Subramaniam would be rendering vocal concerts during the festival season.
Senior artist T.V. Sankaranarayanan would present a vocal concert on January 8, O. S Thiagarajan accompanied by Srimushnam V. Rajarao on mridangam is scheduled for January 9. A dance ballet on ‘Kanthan Kaviyam’ would be staged by Srirangam Bharathanatyalaya troupe on January 10.
Apart from vocal concerts by Malladi Brothers on January 3, Ranjani and Gayathri on Jan 5, Ghatam Karthick’s “Heart Beat Ensemble” on January 11 is expected to be the cynosure.
