CHENNAI: A five-day music and dance festival, organised by Hindu Senior Secondary School, Triplicane, was inaugurated here on Thursday.

Principal Prem Dulari said the festival was being organised for the third year in succession as part of National Curriculum 2000, under the `Art of Healthy and Productive Living'. About 200 students of the school would participate.

Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman congratulated the school on bringing out the talent of students. He offered to help the students improve their skills.

Musician Papanasam Rukmani Ramani, who inaugurated the festival, said the budding artists of the school would foster the century-old tradition of Carnatic music.
