Two municipal employees were arrested on a graft charge at Coonoor on Thursday.

According to the police, Shankar Rao, a tailor, had sought permission to renovate his shop inside the municipal market in Coonoor.

Malar Mani, a bill collector, allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 3,000 to help the tailor. Following a complaint lodged with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption police a trap had been set and Malar Mani arrested. Interrogation revealed that market superintendent Venkatesan was also involved and he too was arrested.
