Dharmapuri: In an effort aimed at highlighting the schemes and activities of the State Government, a multimedia exhibition will be held in all the panchayat headquarters in the district from January 29 to February 28.

Besides the exhibition, a rural sports event will be conducted on February 26 and 27 with a valedictory function for distribution of prizes on February 28 at all the centres, said the Collector, M. Chandrasekaran, here on Friday.

Various departments of the State Government, including Information and Publicity, Family Welfare, Arivoli, District Rural Development Agency, Revenue, Education, Small Savings, Social Welfare, Forests, Tourism, TAHDCO, Agriculture, Horticulture and Cooperatives will participate in the exhibition. Products made by Self-help groups in the district would also be displayed at the exhibition.

Distribution of pamphlets, handbills and screening of cinema slides would be conducted in all the panchayat headquarters as part of the exhibition.

Free medical camps

The Collector has also instructed the officials to conduct free medical camps and provide vitamin tablets to pregnant women and children at all Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres.

Along with this, free veterinary camps would also be conducted for cattle and other livestock in all panchayat headquarters. Departments of Agriculture and TWAD would conduct soil and water tests during the exhibition, the Collector said.
