The 10-day multi-media campaign organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations to highlight the achievements of the State Government concluded at Corporation Town Hall here on Sunday.

The stalls set up by various departments disseminated the salient features of various government-sponsored schemes as well as its benefits to the public.

As part of the campaign, display boards were set up at the fair arena to show the development works taken up by the government to improve rural connectivity as well as uplift the living standards of economically weaker sections.

Safer driving practices

The police used their stall to educate people on safer driving practices as fatal accidents had been very high in the district during the last few years. Cultural programmes including dances and educational skits were held in the evenings every day.

A colourful valedictory ceremony, attended by Collector M. Mathivanan, district panchayat chairman Shanmugam and deputy mayor S. Gunasekaran, brought the curtains down for the multi-media campaign.
