NAGAPATTINAM: U. Mathivanan, Minister for Dairy Development, said that the Information and Public Relations department had successfully conducted the 10-day multimedia publicity campaign here and highlighted the achievements of the Government's welfare schemes and projects.

He was addressing the valedictory function of the campaign at Avuri Thidal here on Wednesday evening.

He explained in detail the implementation of several welfare schemes. Collector Tenkasi S. Jawahar, who presided over, said that the free health camps being conducted under `Varumun Kappom' scheme evoked a good response from the people in rural areasHe appealed to the people to make use of the facilities provided to the weaker sections of the society under various schemes.

The Collector said that during the 10-day campaign, special medical camps were conducted in rural areas, dog show and daily entertainment programmes were organised in Nagapattinam and other places.

R. Gnanasekaran, District Revenue Officer, and P. Muthiah, District Information and Public Relations Officer, also spoke.
