MADURAI: Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) has welcomed the State Government’s move to lift the 20 per cent power cut ban imposed on small scale industries (SSI).

In a press release, association president N. Somasundaram said that the move would increase the production in the lakhs of SSIs resulting in increased employment opportunities. The association also requested the Electricity Minister to take steps to lift the remaining 30 per cent demand cut on High Tension units as SSIs were dependent on them for orders. Such a move would boost the morale of the SSIs, he said.
