SALEM: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the trade unions and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on November 29 to implement a new wage revision.

The MoU was signed in the presence of the INTUC All India President G. Sanjeeva Reddy, said a press release from R. Radhakrishnan, General Secretary of Salem Steel National Employees Union, affiliated to INTUC.

According to the MoU, the employees working in the SAIL’s steel plants were given a 21 per cent of minimum guaranteed benefits.

Over 1.30 lakh employees in the SAIL’s steel plants in the country would benefit, the release said.
