Mother Teresa Women’s University Vice-Chancellor K. Manimekalai has suggested that students should be motivated to take up small scale skill oriented projects to become entrepreneurs and researchers.

Addressing the 22nd Graduation Day ceremony at the Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women at Kilakarai, near here on Tuesday, she said the courses offered by various universities and colleges should inculcate new skills to students and make them employable.

“Institutions should arrange periodical assessments and workshops to enhance the skills of students. Professional staff need to monitor the learning process and outcome of the students through mentoring system rather than transferring knowledge through lectures,” she said.
