TIRUPUR: Leading European brand for expectant mothers and children, Mothercare, dedicated to the people the new maternity block at T.S. Kandasamy Chettiyar Memorial Maternity and Child Welfare Home of the Tirupur Corporation.
Its chairman Ian Peacock declared open the 20-bed block and presented the certificate to Mayor K. Selvaraj.
Stressing on the benefit of partnership, Mr. Peacock said that the partnership between Mothercare and Tirupur had been strong.
“We have opened our first office outside the United Kingdom here. We have a special place for Tirupur,” Mr. Peacock said.
The construction of the modern maternity block was a good example of partnership between Mothercare and its vendors for the cause of the community, he added.
Thanking the Mothercare and its knitwear suppliers for taking up the project in Tirupur, Mr. Selvaraj that their name and fame would last long as like the late T.S. Kandasamy Chettiyar who donated the land and building for the maternity home several decades ago.

Terming it a small beginning, Martin Antony, managing director of Mothercare India Sourcing Limited, said the partnership between Mothercare and its vendors would make many service projects possible.
