CHENNAI: Sessions packed with information on courses and careers await parents and students on the second day of The Hindu Education Plus Career Fair 2009, organised by the University of Madras and sponsored by the Indian Bank.

Sunday’s proceedings at the Centenary Hall at the University of Madras will kick off at 10 a.m. with “Board the Board”, a seminar on management studies, sponsored by Park Global School of Business Excellence.

In this session, L.S. Ganesh, professor at the Department of Management Studies, IIT-Madras, and entrepreneur and politician Sarath Babu, who is the founder and CEO of Foodking, would be advising the students on what it takes to have a career in management.

Following this, at 12.30 p.m. is the psychometric test, which helps measure among other things your interest and aptitude. This would be administered by Bodhi, an organisation and people development consultancy firm.

The final session is for those who dare to dream. The seminar on “Off-beat options,” sponsored by AMET University, would start at 2 p.m. with T.M. Veera Raghav, journalist at CNN-IBN, talking on journalism and electronic media.

This would be followed by a talk by Captain Bharadwaj from Anna University on marine engineering. The last talk would be for those who wish to have a career involving the silver screen. K. Hariharan, director, L.V. Prasad Film and TV Academy, will speak on “Studies related to Film Industry.”
