After hectic electioneering and long anxious wait, its time for thanks giving for the newly-elected member of the Madurai Central Assembly constituency, R. Sundararajan.
Accompanied by the cadre of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, he began his thanks-giving campaign from Koodal Azhagar Perumal Temple on Friday evening.
Mr. Sundararajan went around the streets in and around the temple with folded hands. One of the cadres kept shouting slogan for thanking the voters. “He came seeking your votes. You made him an MLA. He is now coming to thank you all,” he shouted. The cadres also introduced the elected representative to the traders and people of the area.
Men and women greeted Mr. Sundararajan. Some of them told him that he has lot of work at hand. Shaking hands with the MLA, one of them advised him to put up a brave face. A few women complained about erratic supply of drinking water in the by-lanes of Kazimar Street. One of the party cadre helped the women prepare a petition addressed to the MLA seeking help to set right the water problem. A few other women pointed out the stagnating underground drainage problem in the area.
Interacting with the voters, the party cadre encouraged them to represent all their grievances to the MLA for resolving them.
