MADURAI: the Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension of the Madurai Kamaraj University has decided to offer a one-year certificate course titled `Electrician'.

The course, which is aimed at helping the unemployed high school educated youth, is scheduled between January 23, 2006 and January 22, 2007.

According to a release issued here on Monday, experienced teachers would handle the classes to be conducted from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The curriculum would include theory and practical classes, besides periodical tests.

First aid classes, field visits and practical training in specific skills would be the other highlights of the course.

Students could also benefit from guest lectures on career guidance.

Application forms for the course could be obtained from the office of the Director, Department of Adult, Continuing Education and Extension, in Alagarkoil Road, Madurai.
