No untoward incident in Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari districts

While the Democratic Youth Front of India organised a programme to mark Valentine’s Day, a group of Hindu Munnani activists united two dogs in wedlock as a mark of protest.

DYFI activists celebrated the day at the junction here by bursting crackers and distributing sweets. They claimed that caste and communal differences could be eradicated through love marriages.

They released heart-shaped hydrogen balloons in the air.

Meanwhile, Hindu Munnani functionaries, who conducted the ‘marriage’ of the two dogs near the Registrar Office on the Collectorate premises, submitted an application to the Sub-Registrar to ‘register’ the marriage. The application was rejected.
