For easy transportation of fish on time

Nagercoil: The demand of the coastal people to have a bus route connecting all the coastal areas to facilitate them to transport fish on time to other areas had been fulfilled with the inauguration of a bus . The bus will start at 7.15 a.m. and 2.15 p.m. from Manakudi daily and reach Neerodi Colony. Similarly, the bus will start at 10.45 a.m. and 5.45 p.m. daily from Neerodi Colony.

Flagging of the new bus to the coastal route, the Tourism Minister N. Suresh Rajan said residents of Manakudi, Sothavilai beach, Annai Nagar, Pallam, Puthenthurai, Kesavan Puthenthurai, Pozikarai, Periyacadu, Rajakkamangalmthurai, Azikkal Pillaithoppu, Muttom, Kadiyapattinam, Manavalakurichi, Manidaicaduputhur, Colachel, Simon Colony, Kodimunai, Vaniyakudi and other coastal areas would be benefited.

Later attending a review meeting, the Minister said that the Government allotted Rs.99.5 lakh for the construction of a filter house at Kuzuthurai to provide potable water to the residents of Kuzuthurai municipal limit.

He directed the officials to complete the work at the earliest. The Government had also sanctioned Rs.16.70 crore for the implementation integrated drinking water project for residents of Kaliakkavilai, Methukummal, Kollencode, Ezuthesan and other areas (way-side habitations).
