Minister distributes free gas stoves and bicycles to beneficiaries

DMK Government has implemented many welfare measures

Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam distributed free gas stoves and cycles at a function at Edapadi near here on Saturday.

He said that welfare assistance was distributed to 1,049 beneficiaries at a cost of Rs. 28.61 lakh. The Minister said that Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had carried out various welfare activities to help the poor and needy.

In Edapadi, Rs. 12.51 lakh worth gas stoves to 550 beneficiaries were distributed.

The Minister said that the DMK government was pro-poor and had carried out various welfare measures for the benefit of the public.

The Chief Minister, he said, had fulfilled not only the election promises but also ones he had not given.

The ‘108' ambulance service was a great success while the Kalaignar Housing Scheme was being executed with a good measure of success. Social schemes, especially in women welfare, had been executed.

The Minister also attended a series of programmes at Magudanchavadi, Edapadi, Konkanapuram and other places.

District Revenue Officer V. Kalai Arasi took part in the functions.
