TIRUCHI: The daily minimum remuneration for the workers employed under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has been hiked from the present Rs. 80 to Rs. 100 from January 1, 2010.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, Collector T. Soundiah stated that the above scheme was introduced in the district on April 1, 2008. Equal wages were provided to both men and women employed in the execution of development works.
