The Tamilnadu Co-operative Milk Producers' Federation Ltd (Aavin) here on Thursday procured 11,638 litres of milk from private dairies to make up with the deficit faced due to the indefinite strike called for by the Tamil Nadu Milk Producers Federation from Monday. Aavin officials told The Hindu that milk was bought from those companies at Rs. 15.61 per liter to increase the total milk procurement to 58 percent. The strike that entered the fourth day on Thursday morning saw a drastic dip in milk collected at the cooperative milk collection centres.
