Book on Rm. Veerappan released on the occasion

CHENNAI: The M.G.R. Kazhagam on Saturday honoured veteran comedian Nagesh and scriptwriter Arurdoss.

Pro-chancellor of Annamalai University, M.A.M. Ramaswamy, presented them the MGR awards on behalf of the kazhagam.

The kazhagam is headed by the former Minister, Rm. Veerappan,

Film producer A.V.M. Saravanan and director K. Balachander described Nagesh a multi-faceted personality and Arurdoss as one who had successfully wrote scripts for all actors including M.G. Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan.

On the occasion, a book on Rm. Veerappan was released by industrialist N. Mahalingam and it was received by Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed University) Chancellor S. Jagathrakshagan.

The former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, V.C. Kulandaisamy, said Veerappan was responsible for starting six new universities and the State Council for Higher Education.

In his reply, Mr. Veerappan said he owed his present position to MGR.
