CHENNAI: Consumers Association of India will organise a seminar on April 22 focussing on how to come up with solutions to transportation and traffic problems of the city.
Rise in number of accidents
According to R. Desikan, trustee of Consumers Association of India, increase in the number of private vehicles, violation of road rules and an insufficient public transport system had led to many problems, including rise in number of accidents.
After the technical sessions till 1.30 p.m., there will be interactive sessions involving consumers.
Governor Surjit Singh Barnala would deliver the valedictory address.
The proceedings and suggestions will be placed before the authorities so that they could come up with solutions, said Mr. Sainath of the Association.
The seminar will be held at the Anna Institute of Management on Greenways Road from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
