The `MEEDHA FEST 2013’, an inter-school competition for the secondary and higher secondary levels organised by the PRIST University in its Kumbakonam campus on February 8 evoked very good response and won the hearts of all the people.

Prof.P.Murugesan, Chancellor of PRIST University, was appreciated by all school Principals in and around Kumbakonam town for providing a wonderful platform to conduct the inter-school competition.

Students took part actively in all the events organised very well. The event was hosted with a motive of providing the students a platform to express their imagination and creativity through Language Games, Creative Corner, Master Brain and Innovation Expo.

Mr. M.L.Kumaran, Chief Manager, Indian Bank, Kumbakonam main branch was the chief guest of the event who inaugurated the event by lighting of the holy lamp.

Mrs. M.Jhansi Rani, Head of the Department (S&H), PRIST University, welcomed the gathering. Dr.S.Audithan, Director of the PRIST University campus, in his address encouraged the students. Keynote address was given by Mrs.R.Revathi Mohan, Principal, PRPS [CBSE], Kumbakonam, delivered the keynote address and the chief guest delivered the presidential address.

The event witnessed the participation of about 350 students from 27 schools in and around Kumbakonam. It was an enriching experience for all the participants and the event was successful. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and all the participants.

The Best Principal Award for maximum participants from the school was bagged by Mr.L.Robert Selvan, Headmaster of the Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam. The Best School Award for the maximum winners in the events was bagged by The Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam and the runner up was Town Higher Secondary School, Kumbakonam.

The best school and best principal awards were sponsored by Designer Furniture, Kumbakonam.

The event ended with the vote of thanks by Mr.K.Sivakumar, HoD, Mechanical Engineering Department, PRIST University.
