Women should not take their health for granted.
Emphasising this a medical camp with focus on Women’s health was organised under the aegis of the Armed Forces Medical Services at the Military Hospital in Wellington near here on Thursday.
Brigadier S. Suresh Kumar, Commandant, Madras Regimental Centre, who inaugurated the camp regretted that most of the women tend to postpone decisions relating to their health. Consequently they end up suffering from one malady or the other.
In a bid to enhance awareness among the women about their health such a camp had been organized.He urged the women to make optimum use of such opportunities.
Screening for cancer and lifestyle ailments like obesity, hypertension and diabetes formed part of the camp.
Special emphasis was on detection of osteoporosis through a series of bone densitometry tests.
Among those present was the Commandant, Military Hospital, Brigadier Raymond Raj.
