Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) B. Srikanth has been selected for the President's Police Medal for the year 2012 for his meritorious service.

Mr Srikanth, who has been posted in the Karaikal region, has served the territorial police in different capacities. He also served the Intelligence Bureau on deputation. He was recently conferred IPS. He won a special appreciation from the United States for apprehending fugitive Alan Jay Horowitz, who was wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, during his stint in the Intelligence Bureau.

Inspector of Police, Grand Bazaar Police Station, Angappan has been awarded Presidents' Police Medal for distinguished service. He has put in 38 years of service. Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Sarasa has been awarded President's Police Medal for meritorious service. She has put in 37 years of service.

The names were announced by Chief Secretary M. Sathiyavathy at the Republic Day function on Thursday.
